Description
ARC 50P Ozone Generator
Simple ozone sanitation for cold plunges
The ARC 50P is a compact cold plunge ozone generator built specifically for cold plunge and ice bath sanitation. It is designed for tanks from 50 to 300 gallons, includes a built-in air pump, and installs in about 10 minutes. No venturi injector or complicated plumbing is required. Whether you built your own setup or bought a professionally made tub, the ARC 50P gives you a straightforward way to keep your water cleaner with less ongoing maintenance.
A practical replacement for the discontinued JED 303
For years, the JED 303 was the go-to ozone generator for cold plunge owners. It combined corona discharge ozone technology with a built-in air pump in one simple unit.. When JED Engineering discontinued its cold plunge line in late 2025, owners were left without a direct equivalent.
The ARC 50P was built to fill that gap with a purpose-built replacement for cold plunge owners who want the same straightforward approach.
Keeping cold plunge water clean shouldn’t be complicated
Most chemical sanitation programs require frequent testing, careful dosing, and regular adjustment. Many ozone generators on the market (kitchen or air-purification units) are not built for the water depth or volume found in cold plunges.
The ARC 50P is sized and configured for the needs of real cold plunges. It produces ozone at the output level your tub actually needs, delivers it through an airstone rated to 48 inches of water depth, and runs on a simple daily timer. No chemistry degree. No jury-rigged equipment.
How ozone helps keep cold plunge water clean
Ozone (O3) is a powerful oxidizer made from oxygen. When it is introduced into your water, it helps oxidize organic contaminants and support cleaner water. After reacting, it converts back to regular oxygen, leaving no chemical residue behind.
Used consistently, ozone can help extend the time between water changes and reduce how much maintenance your cold plunge requires.
Some owners choose to run small amounts of chlorine, bromine, or hydrogen peroxide alongside ozone. The ARC 50P works well in those setups and helps reduce the amount of chemical product needed.
One important note: Ozone reduces maintenance. It does not eliminate water changes entirely. Many users on a daily run schedule find they can go 6 to 12 months between water changes, depending on tub size, filtration, and usage.
Important Safety Note
The ARC 50P is intended for cold plunge and ice bath water sanitation only. It is not designed for air purification, medical use, or any other purpose. Install and operate the unit outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. Avoid breathing ozone gas. Do not run the unit continuously. For best results, use the ARC 50P as part of a complete cold plunge water maintenance system with proper circulation and filtration.
Key Features
Built-In Air Pump
Delivers ozone through an airstone placed up to 48 inches below the water surface. No plumbing required.
Sized for Cold Plunges
Rated for tanks between 50 and 300 gallons, covering the full range of DIY builds and most professionally manufactured tubs.
Corona Discharge Technology
Produces ozone efficiently without UV bulbs to replace. The corona discharge module is rated for approximately 5,000 hours of operation.
Compact Wall-Mounted Design
Small footprint. Built-in mounting eyelets.
Waterproof-Rated Enclosure
Case and cable ports are rated IP67. Ventilation port is rated IP64.
How It Works
Step 1: Generate
The ARC 50P uses a corona discharge module to convert oxygen into ozone.
Step 2: Deliver
The built-in air pump pushes ozone through the included tubing and airstone, which you place at the bottom of your tub.
Step 3: Sanitize
Ozone bubbles dissolve into the water, helping reduce organic load and improve water quality. It then reverts to regular oxygen, leaving nothing behind.
Compatibility
The ARC 50P is compatible with:
- Chest freezer cold plunges (interior must be properly sealed or lined)
- Acrylic plunge tubs
- Rotomolded tubs (including Ice Barrel)
- Inflatable cold plunge tubs
- Stock tanks (Rubbermaid and similar)
- Stainless steel plunge tubs
- Cedar and wood soaking tubs
- Most major brands, including Plunge, Desert Plunge, Ice Barrel, Fire & Ice, and Fjord

Ozone is not compatible with these materials: Aluminum, rubber, neoprene, and vinyl. If any of these materials are exposed to the ozone output inside your tub, do not use this product.
Installation
Typical setup takes about 10 minutes.
- Mount the unit on a wall or shelf near your tub.
- Connect the included check valve to the tubing.
- Place the airstone at the bottom of the tub.
- Plug the unit into a timer connected to a GFCI outlet.
For chest freezer conversions: You will need to create a small entry point in your lid or seal for the tubing. A detailed installation guide (PDF) is included with your order confirmation email.
Recommended daily run time: Most users run the ARC 50P for 30 minutes per day while their circulation pump is operating. Run time can be increased in 30-minute increments up to a maximum of two hours per day. Do not run the unit continuously.
Important: The ARC 50P uses an airstone to diffuse ozone into your water. Do not connect it to a venturi injector. Doing so can damage the unit.
